Pierce Purcell Shield 2023
As co-captains of the AIG Men’s Pierce Purcell Shield Team, we (Jim Lindsay and David Porter) are seeking interest from members who wish to represent the club in this year’s competition.

Competition Eligibility / Format
The Pierce Purcell consist of five pairings playing on a foursome’s basis
To be eligible a player must:
- be 18 and over on 1 January 2023
- have a fully established handicap index (20 scores returned by 31/12/22)
- have a handicap index that was not lower than 12.5 in 2022
The lowest combined handicap index for a pair is 25.0 and highest is 34.0 If a pair exceeds 34.0, they will still be able to play but their combined handicap index will drop down to 34.0.
Shots will be given/received based on playing handicaps calculated from combined course handicaps.
