WISHES TO NEALE JENKINS |
The
club send best wishes to past captain Neale Jenkins as he
recovers from a frightening accident on the course today
(Saturday 3rd July). Neale was on the 14th tee when struck
full force by a wayward ball from the 18th fairway. Neale
was treated and removed by ambulance from the 14th tee and
it is understood he will possibly be detained in hospital
for observation. Everyone at the club wishes Neale a speedy
recovery.
UPDATE
Good News! Neale has been in touch and has asked that his
thanks are passed on to all the members who had phoned to
check if he was ok. Neale was discharged from the Ulster
Hospital last night (Saturday 3rd) after getting a few staples
in his head. He says he will be back on the Practice Academy
on Monday evening, weather permitting. This is excellent
news after what must have been a worrying time for Neale
and his family. |

NEWSLETTER |
| Folks,
I feel compelled to recommend to you the Monday edition of
the Belfast Newsletter. At the beginning of each week it includes
an excellent golf supplement with stories of local golf news.
It has already published news from our own club but, having
bought it over recent weeks; I have found it to be a worthwhile
buy to brighten up the start of a gloomy week at work. Please
bring it into consideration when you step into the news agents
at the start of the week and share it with others! OK, it
probably shares the stories we have on our website but it
is nice to see Donaghadee Golf Club recognised in the local
media and that’s worth supporting! |
| OPEN
WEEK |
| Donaghadee’s
Open Week got off to a stutter with Saturday’s Blackstock
Cup delayed by an hour because of early morning mist that
shrouded the County Down coast. Early starters kicked their
heels and went to and fro from the first tee to the putting
green waiting for their turn to eventually hit off.
