Club Captain 2010/11 |
As Captain
of Donaghadee Golf Club for 2010/11 I extend a warm welcome to the
Donaghadee Golf Club website. Our
18 hole course, par 71, is situated on the coast road approximately
6 miles from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland and enjoys
superb views over the Irish Sea to Scotland. Our Club has a proud
tradition and great golfing history with local Northern Ireland
golf superstars Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy both playing Junior
Boys golf on our course for their Clubs in their formative years.
Over the past few years we have invested heavily in our main asset,
namely our course, and this now provides a fair challenge for
all standards of golfers while at the same time providing spectacular
scenery as the round progresses. The course is an absolute gem,
a delight to our members and has received many very complimentary
comments from our visitors. Our substantial investment in our
9 hole Practice Academy, which will open in July 2010, will provide
us with a superb short game facility which will benefit all who
use it.
The staff in our well stocked professionals shop will be delighted
to help you with any of your golfing needs, while after your game
you can enjoy a meal in our restaurant, have a well earned drink
and enjoy the scenery or join in the banter and craic in the Clubhouse.
A great way to round of the perfect day’s golf. To our visitors
and guests I wish you a happy and memorable experience at our
Club and hope you enjoy your time with us and will return again
in the near future.
To discover more about our club and facilities please explore
other pages on our website. If you would like to visit us please
contact our General Manager Jim Cullen who will be happy to provide
you with any additional information you may require.
It is a great honour for me to be Captain of Donaghadee Golf Club
and I hope to continue to enjoy good golf and social engagement
with as many members as possible throughout my year in office,
Finally I wish all our members a happy, enjoyable and healthy
year - may your drives split the fairways and your putts run true.
